The Oneida County Health Department's Diagnostic and Treatment Center provides health education and preventive services.  The services provided include:  Immunizations, Sexually Transmitted Disease and Refugee Assessment clinics, HIV and Aids Testing and Counseling, Tuberculosis Control, Communicable Diseases and Prevention
IMMUNIZATION CLINIC 
  • Provide education and information to parents concerning their children's immunization needs.
  • Administer vaccine according to New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) guidelines to individuals of all ages for protection against vaccine preventable diseases.
  • Walk-in clinics held at the following sites:

TB CLINICS
  • Screening for TB, follow up of active cases and contact investigation.
  • Administer and interpret skin test and provide consultation regarding results to people of all ages.
  • Provide treatment of TB infection and disease.

STD (SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES) CLINIC
  • Provide screening and treatment for gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis
  • Visits are confidential and there is no charge.

COMMUNICABLE DISEASES
The investigation of reported communicable diseases and prevention of outbreaks are among the highest priorities of the Health Department.  Staff works closely with New York State Department of Health and infectious disease specialists to investigate, prophylax and educate the public and inform local providers.  Epidemiologist and staff also conduct bioterrorism planning activities (eg., smallpox and investigate diseases of unknown etiology)
