ENCOURAGES EARLY APPLICATION TO 2000 COLLEGE CORPS PROGRAM 11-23-99
The Oneida County College Student Corps -- a career-guided summer jobs
program for college-age students -- will kick off its third program year
when preliminary applications are distributed on Friday, November 26,
Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace Jr. announced today. |

PROPOSES CONSOLIDATION OF YOUTH SERVICES 11-23-99
Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace Jr. announced today the move
towards "shared services" with the Youth Bureau with the goal of
a full consolidation of services. Youth Bureau Director, James Lafountain
has been tasked to come up with a quick and thorough plan for the
consolidation of recreation program services with the City of Utica.
Eannace said, "It is my belief that after discussions with Ed Hanna,
Bob Julian and others, we can swiftly and efficiently consolidate program
services for youth recreation between the City and the County. This is a
goal we have sought for over 2 years. |

NORTHEAST
INTERSTATE DAIRY COMPACT 10-20-99
The presence of dairy farms as well as the entire dairy industry
contributes enormously to the survival of rural communities throughout New
York State. The dairy industry supports countless businesses such as feed
manufactures, farm equipment dealers, veterinarians, and food processors.
Without stabilized Farm Milk prices, it will be very difficult to maintain
the critical mass of dairy farms which are needed for the industry to
survive in New York State. |

2000 BUDGET ADDRESS 10-1-99
In accordance with the terms of the Oneida County Charter, I appear before
you today to present the proposed operating budget and capital project
plan for the year 2000. It is a special honor to be able to present to you
our operating plans as we approach the new millennium. |

STATE OF THE COUNTY ADDRESS 9-21-99
Thank you very much to the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce, to your
Board, your Members and to everyone here today for your continued support
of our mission to rebuild the economy of Oneida County and to set our
community on a new course for progress. I have been very gratified for
your support over this last three years, and I am proud to be able to
report to you on the great progress that we have made. |

PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS 9-13-99
Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace, Jr.
today announced that the Primary results for the Republican contests in
the Cities of Utica and Rome will be available on a WEB site sponsored by
the Oneida County Department of Central Services, in cooperation with the
Oneida County Board of Elections. |

ANNOUNCES VETERANS MEETING 9-13-99
Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace, Jr. announced that he has
arranged a tour of the Rome VA Clinic on Tuesday, September, 14,
1999. The tour will follow a meeting scheduled for 7:00
P.M. The meeting will be held in the VA Clinic (the former
Base Hospital) at 125 Brookley Drive, Griffiss Park, Rome, New York. |

ANNOUNCES EXPANDED AIR SERVICE 8-19-99
Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace Jr., was joined today with
Assemblywoman RoAnn M. Destito (D-Rome) and representatives of U.S. Air at
a press conference at the Oneida County Airport. U.S. Air announced the
addition of three weekday flights in and out of Newark, NJ, a Saturday
flight in and out of Newark, NJ and two Sunday flights in and out of
Newark, NJ. Eannace said, "We believe that this expansion is a key
component for increased business travel to and from the Mohawk
Valley". Eannace further stated, "The Oneida County airport is
an economic engine. Increasing the number of flights and the number of
destinations helps to stimulate our local economy, and that of the
airport." |

RECEIVES $420,000 HUD GRANT 8-19-99
Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace, Jr. today reacted to the
announcement by the United States Secretary of HUD that Oneida County
would receive a grant for the development of a Child Care Center in New
Hartford, New York. HUD Secretary Andrew Cuomo awarded the grant of
$420,000 to County Executive Eannace at ceremonies in Little Falls this
morning. |

EXECUTIVE ANNOUNCES LOWEST UNEMPLOYMENT LEVEL ON RECORD 8-12-99
Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace, Jr. announced today that the
Mohawk Valley is enjoying the lowest unemployment level on record.
The data was reported in the latest edition of "Employment in New
York State" published by the New York State Department of Labor,
Division of Research and Statistics. |

PROPOSES SALES TAX EXEMPTION 8-10-99
Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace, Jr. today announced that he has
sent proposed legislation to the Oneida County Board of Legislators which
would exempt the county sales tax on clothing and footwear purchases of
less than $500 for the period September 1st through September 7th,
1999. |
