EANNACE ANNOUNCES NEW HARTFORD FLU CLINIC

Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace Jr. announced today that the Oneida County Health Department will conduct a flu clinic on Friday, December 8, 2000 at the New Hartford Adult Dining and Activity Center.

"Though unpredictable, we received additional flu vaccine this week and immediately coordinated another flu clinic for this Friday," Eannace said. "Residents can be assured that we will continue to set up flu clinics throughout the County as soon as vaccine becomes available."

The Center for Disease Control recommends that adults over the age of 65, those that suffer from chronic illnesses and women in their third trimester of pregnancy receive the vaccination and priority will be given to those groups. The New Hartford Adult Dining and Activity Center on 1 Sherman Street in New Hartford, will be open between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. for the flu clinic.

There will be a $10 charge for all shots, which can be covered with Medicaid or Medicare benefits with proper identification.

Due to the shortage of flu vaccine the Oneida County Health Department has not been able to prepare advance schedule of flu vaccination clinics as in the past. But the Health Department will conduct additional flu clinics throughout the County as it receives additional quantities of vaccine.

Details about future clinics will be released as they develop.
