 EANNACE ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL FLU CLINICS

With the long awaited arrival of flu vaccine, Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace Jr. and Oneida County Health officials announced today additional flu clinics throughout the County.

"Flu season usually hits our area in January," Eannace said. "Despite the early shortage of the vaccine, the Health Department has done an excellent job in providing clinics whenever possible in various locations."

This Friday's flu clinic will be open between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at the Boonville Methodist Church Senior Nutrition Center on Ann Street in Boonville.

Due to the shortage of flu vaccine, the Oneida County Health Department was unable to prepare an advance schedule of flu vaccination clinics in the past and preference for the vaccination was given to persons over 65 and women in their third trimester of pregnancy.

However, that shortage has been slightly eased and the Boonville flu clinic on December 15, 2000 as well as future clinics throughout the County will be open to the public on a first come, first serve basis. There will be a $10 charge for all shots, which can be covered with Medicaid or Medicare benefits with proper identification.

Scheduled flu shot clinics will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the following locations:

  • Friday, December 15, 2000 at the Boonville Methodist Church Senior Nutrition Center on Ann Street in Boonville.
  • Monday, December 18, 2000 at Sherrill City Hall, 373 Sherrill Road in Sherrill.
  • Tuesday, December 19, 2000 at the Kirkland Senior Center on New Street in Clark Mills.
  • Thursday, December 21, 2000 at the Camden Presbyterian Church on the corner of Church and Main Street in Camden.

Details about future clinics will be released as they develop.
