City of Utica Greenscaping Project &
Overall Coordinating Agency for Municipal Projects

Project Description:

GREENSCAPING PROJECT

Utica Neighborhood Housing Service, Inc. will utilize funding for a Greenscaping Project for Block Associations in Oneida County. The Block Associations participating in this project will meet with UNHS staff to determine which trees will be planted in their neighborhood, plan for a neighborhood Arbor Day, and develop resident volunteers to assist during the neighborhood Arbor Day.

 

The following Block Associations will participate in the project:

Cornhill North Block Association

Seymour Avenue, Neilson Street, Howard Avenue and Miller Street from South Street to Leah Street – 12 block area

Upper Seymour Block Association

1600-1300 blocks of Neilson Street & Dudley Avenue, 1600-1000 blocks of Seymour Avenue – 15 block area

West Utica Block Association

City Street, Lenox Avenue, Knox Street, Butternut Street, Capitol Avenue, Walnut Street, and Gray Street

Kemble, Gold & Harding Block Association

1400-1500 blocks of Kemble Street, Harding Place, Gold Street and Clinton Place – 5 block area

Grant Street Block Association/GOHO and Mayfield

1400-1600 blocks of Oneida Street, Grant Street, 1600 block of Genesee Street – 6 block area

Faxton, Oneida, Scott Block Association

Faxton Street, Oneida Street, Scott Street.

East Utica Concerned Citizens Neighborhoods Watch

900 blocks of Bleecker and Elizabeth Streets, 700 block of Jay Street, 300 and 400 blocks of Kossuth Avenue with parks near Albany Street and Kossuth Avenue, and the corner of Bleecker and Mohawk Streets.

North Utica Neighborhood Block Association

The North Utica Block Association would like to plant at the West entrance of Cosby Road and Riverside Drive, East entrance of Riverside Drive and corner of Trenton and Walker Road.

Johnson Park/West Street Block Association

Clark Mills Concerned Citizens

UNHS-The Homeownership Center will also provide services as an overall coordination agency for the above listed projects. These services will include but not be limited to the establishment of an agreement between UNHS-The Homeownership Center and the project municipality, submission of vouchers to the County for payment, distribution of funds to the municipality and the submission of all required documentation to the County.
