GOVERNOR'S DISASTER RELIEF HELPS ONEIDA COUNTY

Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace Jr. announced today that Oneida County is one of 28 counties statewide that will receive disaster relief for municipalities that suffered storm damage resulting in severe flooding in the spring and summer of 2000.

"Once again, Governor Pataki has funneled much needed resources to Oneida County," Eannace said. "Recovering from the flood damage is a costly venture and our local municipalities are in need of funding to recover from the disrepair they suffered during the floods. The Governor's assistance in helping our towns and villages get their neighborhoods back should be applauded."

Governor George E. Pataki announced more than $3.3 million in disaster relief for 74 municipalities statewide to ease the financial burden the storms between May 3 through August 12 placed on many communities.

In Oneida County the Town of Lee will receive $7,317.33. The Town of Vienna will receive $5,771.77, the Town of New Hartford will receive $7,864.10 and the Town of Bridgewater will receive $45,229.56.

The State Emergency Management Office will distribute the disaster relief funds.
