"ADDITIONAL INFLUENZA VACCINE
CLINICS SCHEDULED"

Oneida County Executive Ralph J. Eannace, Jr. today announced the scheduling of additional influenza vaccine clinics around Oneida County, after word that the Oneida County Health Department has received additional flu vaccine. "We have received an additional 11-hundred doses of the vaccine from New York State," Eannace said, "plus a shipment of 32-hundred doses, which were expected by November 1st, but were delayed because of a backlog in orders."

"The delay forced us to go to the open market to purchase additional doses," Eannace said, "because I wanted to have an adequate supply on hand. Because of that, we began our program of vaccinations with shots to health workers and a clinic last Friday in Utica.

"I had asked Governor Pataki to look into the delay in vaccine shipments, and he was quick to respond," Eannace continued. "I want to thank the Governor for assisting Oneida County in securing the needed doses of vaccine to ensure that everyone who would like to get the flu vaccine has access to it."

"With the latest shipments, and we now have an inventory of 8,700 doses, which is more than we used last year" Eannace explained.
