Picente:
Social Services Employment Plan Submitted
This Plan describes the pre and
post-employment services and activities Oneida County Department of Social
Services provides to assist Temporary Assistance applicants, Temporary
Assistance recipients and Food Stamps recipients to obtain and retain
employment.
“Oneida
County has a history of being aggressive in terms of helping people who need
temporary assistance rebuild their lives and return to employment, because
that is the best way that families can have the income they require to meet
their needs,” Picente said. “We are also very aware that there is an
important fiscal dimension to keeping our welfare rolls as low as possible.
The Oneida County Department of Social Services has a very good record at
helping to keep the numbers of people on welfare to a minimum while also
helping those who truly need help have every possible assistance in getting
back on their feet. This latest employment plan is a continuation of those
efforts.”
The plan may be reviewed at several county
locations during regular working hours 8:30 am to 4:30 p.m. for the next 30
days: ·
Oneida
County Planning Department 3rd floor, Union Station, ·
Oneida
County Department of Social Services Employment Centers in Utica at 209
Elizabeth Street first floor and in Rome at 228 W. Dominick Street
