Picente Names New Hartford Woman as Assistant

Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. today announced that Caitlin McCann of New Hartford has been appointed as Assistant to the County Executive .

Picente said her primary responsibility will be to serve as a liaison for Town and Village governments as Oneida County looks at ways to assist local municipalities in areas of shared services and to play a pro-active role in helping communities with other vital town and village programs and issues.

McCann, who graduated from Siena College in May 2004 with a BS in Marketing/Management with a minor in Economics, most recently served as a special assistant to the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. Prior to that, she also worked as an administrative assistant with the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance as well as in the office of former Sen. Raymond Meier.

“Caitlin has an understanding of how government works, and the kind of energy and enthusiasm that we need to bring to the work of county government,” Picente said. “Her most recent experience in the Department of Agriculture and Markets will help my administration forge important connections with Oneida County ’s vitally important agri-business industry. Her background in marketing will help Oneida County as we work to increase our economic development efforts by giving Oneida County a higher, more positive profile.”
