Picente Names New Hartford Woman as Assistant
Oneida
County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. today announced that Caitlin McCann
of New Hartford has been appointed as Assistant to the
County
Executive
.
Picente
said her primary responsibility will be to serve as a liaison for Town and
Village governments as
Oneida
County
looks at ways to assist local municipalities in areas of shared services and
to play a pro-active role in helping communities with other vital town and
village programs and issues.
McCann,
who graduated from
Siena
College
in May 2004 with a BS in Marketing/Management with a minor in Economics,
most recently served as a special assistant to the Commissioner of the New
York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. Prior to that, she also
worked as an administrative assistant with the New York State Office of
Temporary and Disability Assistance as well as in the office of former Sen.
Raymond Meier.
“Caitlin
has an understanding of how government works, and the kind of energy and
enthusiasm that we need to bring to the work of county government,”
Picente said. “Her most recent experience in the Department of Agriculture
and Markets will help my administration forge important connections with
Oneida
County
’s vitally important agri-business industry. Her background in marketing
will help
Oneida
County
as we work to increase our economic development efforts by giving
Oneida
County
a higher, more positive profile.”
