ONEIDA COUNTY OLDER AMERICANS’ AWARDS NOMINATIONS

Oneida County Executive, Ralph J. Eannace Jr. and Oneida County Office for the Aging/ Office of Continuing Care Director, Judith Rabig announced today that the OFA/OCC is seeking nominations for outstanding seniors awards to be presented at the annual Older Americans’ Awards Luncheon.  The luncheon will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 105 Genesee Street, New Hartford on Monday, May 15, 2000 from 12:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M.

Ralph Eannace said, "This is a wonderful opportunity for members of the community to honor exceptional older adults, as well as those who have provided outstanding support for them throughout the past year.  Oneida County, has a tradition of concern and support for seniors and through the Office for the Aging and Continuing Care, the county provides an array of supportive services for elderly and disabled persons.  We value our senior citizens and we want to assist them to remain in the community enjoying the high quality of life which Oneida County offers".

The eleven awards categories are as follows; Senior Citizen of the Year, Good Neighbor Award, Physical Fitness Award, Exceptional Staff Award, Business Support Award, Community Service Award, Caregiver of the Year, Home Care Worker Award, Nursing Staff Award, Senior Agency Staff Award and Educator of the Year.
