Passport fee increase

Utica: Oneida County Clerk Richard Allen announced today that the Federal Government has mandated a fee increase for passport processing. This increase will take effect
on August 19, 2002.

New fees effective on August 19, 2002:
DS-11 (16 and over, good for 10 years) - $85 – an increase of $25
DS-11 (under 16 years of age, good for five years) – $70 - an increase of $30
Expedited Services - $60, an increase of $25

The Oneida County Clerk's Office of Passport and Naturalization is located on the 8th Floor of the Oneida County Office Building at 800 Park Ave. Utica. It is open from 8:30 to 4:30. The phone number is 798-5778 or 798-5779. County Clerk Rick Allen "suggests that if anyone is considering a passport in the near future now is the time to apply so you can avoid the price increase."

The Office of Naturalization, is a part of the Oneida County Clerk’s Office, it processes approximately 1800 passports and 400 renewals per year. This office also offers a number of services in addition to passport processing. You can receive help in becoming a citizen, research naturalization records, obtain hunting/fishing licensees or have your picture taken. The office services approximately 40-60 citizens a day as walk in traffic and helps additional citizens with written and phone requests. The Passport and Naturalization Office is managed by Deputy County Clerk Joanne Vanderwood.
